Introduction to US CPC certification:
CPC certification is the English abbreviation of Children’s Product Certificate. The CPC certificate is similar to the domestic quality inspection report. It is a certificate that can be issued at the same time after passing the relevant testing and issuing the report. The certificate lists the importer/exporter information, product information, and Relevant testing items that have been carried out and the regulations and standards based on them. When the Amazon platform launches certain categories of products (such as children’s toys, baby products, etc.), merchants will be required to upload CPC certificates at the same time. Related children’s products without CPC certificates are not allowed to be sold online.
Currently, children’s toy products and maternal and infant products exported to the United States require CPC certification and CPSIA reports for customs clearance. Foreign online merchants Amazon, eBay, and AliExpress also require children’s products, toys, maternal and infant products made in China to apply for CPC children’s product safety certificates.
CPC certification control product scope:
Children’s products (consumer products designed for children 12 years old or younger, or consumer products 12 years old or younger as the main user), such as: children’s toys, children’s clothing, children’s school supplies, etc.
CPC certification testing standard requirements:
SPSC has published a total of 38 standards, mainly involving the following testing contents:
①CPSIA total lead and phthalate
②American toy standard ASTMF963
③Electric toys safety standard 16 CFR Part 1505
④Requirements for rattle toys 16 CFR Part 1510
⑤Nipple safety standard 16 CFR Part 1511
⑥Burning performance of children’s clothing and carpets, such as 16 CFR Part 1610
⑦Children’s products: product standards such as strollers, cribs, fences, carriers, safety seats, bicycle helmets, etc.
